Welcome to the Merchant Navy Association   Glasgow and Clydeside

MNA Glasgow is a community of both serving and retired seafarers of the Merchant Navy and fishing fleets. We meet monthly in Glasgow to share experiences, build camaraderie, and preserve the rich history and traditions of our seafaring profession. Join us in a safe place as we rediscover the fellowship that seafarers know.   Your journey with us starts here. We are committed to the welfare of our maritime community, regardless of rank.

Our cadets and apprentices at Glasgow College are integral to what we do.

About us

The  Merchant Navy Association ,  Glasgow & Clydeside was founded in 2022 and launched with the support of the Lord Provost, Jaqueline Mc Laren.  The association is part of the larger national Merchant Navy Association with over 40 branches nationwide.

The three pillars of our Glasgow Branch are quite simple :

Fellowship : We meet in a safe space to share experiences , swing the lantern and have a laugh

Welfare : Sometimes our shipmates are in need and we have a dedicated welfare officer to assist if necessary.

Duty : We believe that remembering the sacrifice of seafarers in those times of conflict is very important. The Merchant Navy today is at the forefront of geo politics.
